Konquering Kate

I periodically have a problem with Konqueror. When I click on a directory, it wants to open it with Kate, a text editor in KDE in Linux.

This is the second time this has happened to me so I’m making a note to myself about how to resolve the issue.

If I go into ~/.kde/share/mimelnk/inode directory and delete the directory.desktop file, it clears the association between directories and Kate.

Whew. I hate wasting my time on stupid settings. Hopefully the Konqueror team will get this worked out in the next release.

Here’s where I found the answer
