A developer friend of mine, Toni Feltman, was Tweeting about reading the Pomodoro Technique. This technique is meant to increase productivity by focusing on a task uninterpted for 25 minute blocks, followed by a short break, and then repeating. Every four 25 minute blocks, you can take a longer break.

I’m really liking that we can now purchase DRM free music in the form of MP3s. Napster, Amazon, Walmart, and others finally are providing the way to purchase music without handcuffs for personal use. I’m finally glad to see the music industry to get that bug out of their … but something isn’t quite right.

My friend, Russell Campbell, sent me this link this morning.

I’m so happy I’m getting off the M$ B$.
Here’s my favorite quote that I think says it all: “It’s something that will change software development…”

My mother, (my children’s grandmother) is sorely in need of a new computer. Her old one is running Windows ME and is in need of either (1) reformatting or (2) dropped into Lake Lanier. She doesn’t have Office and I can’t get OpenOffice to install on the damn thing. I also can’t [...]

We’d love to have you attend the conference. There will be plenty of Fox presentations, as well as [...]

I met Paul at the REAL World conference this year. Very sharp guy.
Paul says that M$ isn’t dead, it’s gone off it’s rails insane. Read more at his blog at Software Made Simple.
The Visual Foxpro crowd is left adrift same as the VB6 crowd that Paul mentions. M$ expects us to enter their newly created [...]

In this screencast, I’m taking a simple REALbasic example application, doing a quick show of the code behind the scenes, and building the application for Linux and Windows. The results and operation are virtually identical on both platforms. Take a look!

I’ve been meaning to do this for a long time; create a screencast of the REALbasic IDE. In this video, I start from square one, a blank RB project. I show some of application settings, forms, menus, and how to build the project. Very basic but I think it shows the fundamentals [...]

Have you heard me, or someone else, perhaps a news story mention Linux? Perhaps you’re curious and you want to see what it would be like to download and try out Linux, even what it would take to install it. What does it look like? Is it hard to use?
The following online [...]
