SWFox Registration Opens Today!

I'm a few minutes early, but not by much. Unfortunately, there won't be a FF08, so that means that you *must* get to SWFox to satisfy your VFP addiction. I'm sure that the SWFox gang will put on another great show this year.

Does foxnews.com Hate Linux Users?

Sure enough, they won't serve up video to Linux based computers. I got the low down from The ERACC Web Log.

I wonder why they made that decision? To block video based on the operating system? Weird.

Is the web site really down, or is it just me?

How many times have you visited a web site, and it's down. Then you begin to wonder if maybe it's your connection? or your DSN? or a fiber cable cut? Sure, you can try pinging and tracerouting, but it sure would be nice to have another opinion.

Well, here's a web ...

No love renaming files in Linux

When renaming files in DOS and Windows, you typed in REN *.txt *.bak. Easy.

In Linux, you would figure it would be just as easy. Nah. MV and RENAME don't do it as easily. Sure you can write a script to do this, but come on!!!

I love ...

No FoxForward 2008

I've been putting off this official announcement for a while now. It is my unpleasant task of announcing that I won't be hosting FoxForward in 2008, and I don't have plans for another one.

I am very proud of FoxForward, and I am awe struck by the talented speakers ...

REAL World 2008 - Day 1

So, I check in and drop my bag off in my room. The bed calls my name beckoning me with a call ... "Sleep, sleep, sleep." I will not be seduced. I have technology also calling me and the promise of learning something is stronger than the short term satisfaction ...
