Stuff is happening at Redbud!

Of course it is! It's summer!

It's weekend recovery day(tm) and I had a busy weekend. Lots of stuff going on but I just happened to take a bunch of pictures this weekend, so let's take a look at what is going on.

On Saturday I was mowing the grass and this little fella caught my eye. It's a good thing too as I almost ran him over! We don't get a lot of snakes in Georgia, so I was pleasantly surprised to see him. I welcome all non-venomous snakes to my farm, Redbud. (Remember: It is *ILLEGAL* to kill a non-venomous snake in Georgia. It's not just a good idea, it's the law.)

We have a huge Magnolia tree on our property and it blooms on occasion with fragrant blossoms. Take a look at all of the life that these blooms attract! Remember, most pollination isn't done by honey bees, but by native bees and insects. This flower was busy! I loved taking a moment to appreciate all of the life and the activity.

There's a fungus among us!!! These mushrooms are beautiful. I don't know what kind they are, but I appreciate their beauty. No, I'm not eating them! I saw them on my morning walk with the dogs and had to stop for a picture. They won't last long and then they'll be gone. Fragile things are often time beautiful and precious.

Last picture and it's of our blueberry crop just starting to come ripe! Today it was a couple of cups full of blueberries, but soon it will be pints and pints of them! We've planted a bunch of new plants and they will take several years to really start producing but we've got enough to hold us over, and to turn into wine. Yes, there's enough for the birds too.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures. Stuff is really starting to pop now that it's full daylight and warm temperatures. Until next time, remember to make the most of your life and enjoy the little things.
